The Vision
A new Aid For Friends emergency shelter will serve almost 1,000 Southeast Idaho residents experiencing or facing homelessness while helping them access the support resources they need to get back on their feet.
The Need
The existing Aid For Friends facility is the only emergency shelter for women, men, and families in a region that has the state’s second-highest rate of homelessness. It’s in a cramped, single-family home that operates at 114% of capacity most of the year.
The Benefit
The expanded Aid For Friends facility will approximately double the current shelter’s capacity and offer appropriate living quarters for men, women, and families. Other enhancements include educational and workforce development opportunities.
The Opportunity to Give Hope
You have a unique opportunity to join forces with nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations to help the most vulnerable members of the Pocatello community thrive. Your donation will be used to help renovate a newly acquired space for Aid For Friends that will provide critical shelter and enhanced resources for low-income and homeless families in Southeast Idaho.
The Current Partners and Donors
We appreciate the support and financial contributions from these organizations, as well as individual donors, who recognize the importance of supporting a new Pocatello shelter.
